Studio 250 Launches New Record Label
Signs Barry Rock Band Bendricks
CINDERFORD, UK - Studio 250 in the Forest of Dean has launched its own label, Studio 250 Records.
The move reflects a growing trend of studios evolving beyond recording services to become creative hubs where artists can develop music and release it through collaborative partnerships.
Studio 250 Records was born from founder Mike Bayliss’ belief that talented artists shouldn’t be held back by the cost of making great records. The label grew naturally from the creative partnerships formed during recording sessions at Studio 250, where artists and producers were already developing music together. Studio 250 Records aims to support these creatives from the earliest stages of their career.
The label’s first signing is Bendricks, a four-piece guitar band whose sound blends indie rock with psychedelic influences. The band is fronted by brothers Mitch and Dominic Griggs, alongside bassist Rhydian Greening, all of Barry, Wales along with drummer Aaron Abraham of Swansea.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, but seeing the passion and intensity that Bendricks has for music was really inspiring for me. I wanted to support that talent and encourage them to keep doing what they’ve been doing best. I believe in them and I have no doubt that they will go on to become of the UK’s biggest acts,” said Bayliss.
Bendricks recently spent five days recording at Studio 250 in what became one of the most important sessions of their career so far. The band threw themselves into the process, often working late into the night and revisiting ideas until they felt they had pushed the songs as far as they could. The sessions were focused and intense, but left plenty of room for experimentation - a balance that has produced a collection of tracks set to drive the band’s next chapter. Those tracks will carry the Studio 250 Records label.
“We are really excited about this partnership,” said Mitch Griggs. “It’s the beginning of a new chapter both musically and personally for the band. Having a team around us that believes in the songs as much as we do makes a huge difference, and it’s given us the confidence to aim much higher with what we’re creating. The environment at Studio 250 pushes you to take risks and really commit to your ideas, and that’s exactly what we needed. We feel like we’ve made some of the strongest music we’ve ever written, and this partnership gives us the platform to take it much further.”
Bendricks first release on the label is Rock ‘N Roll Suite, which will be released on March 13. The song questions a modern world whispering about the death of rock ’n’ roll, now drowned
out by mainstream poster boys and clean-shaven pop stars, and calls for the return of a rigid, retro, pre-social-media lifestyle.
